The Rwenzori, the mysterious mountains of the moon of the old greeks, the highest source of the river Nile, is full of magic landscapes, wild valleys and a vegetation, which is unique in it wild, lush beauty.
By now the rwenzori is a UNESCO world heritage site and a cross border national park of Uganda and Congo.

Danube Delta - general Information
The Biosphere Reserve and RAMSAR site Danube Delta is during summer home to thousands of herons. Especially the in western europe quite unknown Squacco Heron displays a colorful plumage during the mating seasons. Other herons like Grey Heron, Little Heron or Night Heron are better known in the rest of Europe.

Albatrosses and the closley related Giant Petrels are symbols of the Southern oceans around Antarctica.
The great Albatrosses (Wandering Albatross and Royal Albatross) mate for life and have therefore developed displays with gestures, dances and preening.
The Giant Petrels (Northern and Southern Giant Petrel) are often called the "vultures of the seas". Together with Southern Skuas they take care of dead animals in the big seal colonies of their region. Sometimes they take also young penguin chicks.
Nearly all species of Albatrosses and both Giant Petrels are endangered due to the overfishing of the oceans and longline fishing methods. Therefore the Gallery is dedicated to the

Islands like Auckland Island, Campell Island or Snares Island are little known und even less poeple haabe been privileged to visit these magnificent islands. The New Zealand DOC has strict regulations and not many ships call in at these uninhabited islands.
