Summer and Fall 2013

Weather was not much in favour of photographers during our summer and fall. Moreover I was busy with the pictures from Scotland and some other smaller project.

All the same I managed to get some good days in some of my favourite locations and I started my long lasting project about the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden. More about this later.

Some marketing in the very beginning. We started active marketing for my Falkland Island Photo Workshop in the austral summer 2014/2015. It is a unique offering for the german speaking countries and Falkland is something every keen photographer has to have visited once! Please distribute this information via mail and facebook likes and shares (yes I created a facebook page!) to all people who might be interested! The more the better!

Have fun and as usual feedback is always welcome.

National Park Berchtesgaden und Berchtesgadener Land

Berchtesgaden with its National Park is one of the top destinations in Germany. Landmarks like the little Church of St. Bartolomä and the lake Königssee are famous throughout the world. The National Park itself, with the exception of the Königssee area, is hardly covered by the major agencies. That is not so strange as the access to the more remote parts is hard work, but rewarding.

I will visit this area from time to time to extend my coverage.

This year I was so far three times there and was very often not very lucky weatherwise. Murky skies, fog, haze - not good.... Only my last visit during fall was really rewarding.

Some other landmarks in Bavaria

Munich, Herrenchiemsee Palace and the bavarian alps are always a good option for a one or two day shoot in the vicinity. If the weather fits, it is very safe way to increase my coverage of southern bavaria. An it is not only nature but also architecture, which is a good thing.

National Park Hohe Tauern, Reichenspitzgruppe

The Reichenspitzgruppe in the National Park Hohe Tauern is one of my favourite locations in Austria. It is a great area for hiking and climbing and very atmospheric. I inlcuded two large panoramas, more for the hikers and climbers among us.

and finally Südtirol

The golden-red Larch trees in the valley of villnöss were the reason to go there. The trees have been wonderful however we ended up in first deep snow, cloud cover in the valley and after a few days, in a severe low pressure cell. We took refuge in Brixen with all its rich churches and monasteries.

not Bavaria, but

You are right, this picture is neither from Austria nor from Bavaria.

As I already mentioned in the beginning I am guiding a photo workshop to the Falkland Islands

The Falklands are a unique destination and there are not many photographers around, who know the Falkland Islands as good as I do. If you know anybody, who might be interested, send the link or just email me.

This is the link:

All the best and have a good time!!!
